Mission Statement: The Monroe Animal League is the oldest, independent, all-volunteer, animal welfare organization in Monroe County, PA. Since its inception in 1943, the League with the cooperation of many local veterinarians has helped thousands of cats and dogs through our low cost spay or neuter and emergency care programs for needy and low-income residents. Using the H.S.U.S. Adopt-A-Teacher Program, the League sponsors humane education to over 200 elementary classes, K-6, each year. In addition, we loan humane traps, provide pet food in emergencies, maintain a pet referral list, distribute pet health and safety information, keep abreast of pending legislation, and publish a quarterly newsletter. The Monroe Animal League is a member of the Spay/USA Network and the Federated Humane Societies of Pennsylvania.
